Thermo Xcalibur is a Windows-based data system for Thermo Scientific LC-MS and GC-MS instruments that unifies instrument control, data acquisition, and data analysis. It streamlines end-to-end workflows from method development and batch scheduling to qualitative review and quantitative reporting.

Key capabilities include:

• Instrument setup and method editing, with sequence management for automated batch runs
• Qualitative analysis (Qual Browser) for chromatogram and spectrum review, peak detection, isotope pattern checking, and elemental composition estimation
• Quantitative analysis (Quan Browser) for calibration curve creation, internal standard handling, batch reprocessing, and automated QC flagging
• Native handling of Thermo RAW files and efficient processing of large datasets
• Customizable reporting, plus user management and audit trails to support 21 CFR Part 11 compliance in regulated environments

Common applications span pharmaceutical QA/QC, environmental monitoring, food safety testing, and research in proteomics and metabolomics. Xcalibur also serves as a foundation platform for controlling a wide range of Thermo mass spectrometers, including Orbitrap, triple quadrupole, and ion trap systems, and can interoperate with specialized downstream analysis tools when needed.
